Madison Blue Spring

A spring state park known for crystal-clear water is popular for locals and tourist for cave-diving and swimming. It’s water temp is constant at 72 degrees all year round. 

Old St Augustine

This town offers a living history of the Spanish and English settlers. It is known for the oldest street and majority of historical houses, restaurants and art gallery shops can be found here. The focal point of St. Augustine’s history is the Castillo de San Marcos, a large Spanish stone fortress which housed soldiers and prisoners during the Revolutionary war. 

 

FSU Lakefront Park (Tallahassee)

It is located in Lake Bradford, a recreational area open to FSU students/staffs and community members which offers numerous activities around such as canoeing, kayaking, wall climbing and swimming. This place is good for group activities or a small gathering. Water equipments are also available for rental and there is a small entrance fee if you are not an FSU student or staff. 

Stone Mountain Park

 

Stone Mountain is Georgia’s most visited attraction. The view at the top is breathtaking and an amazing experience.There are numerous activities and exciting views that you will love to watch and experience such as sky ride, sky hike and the laser show; if you are lucky they also have fireworks during big holidays. Park is open from 5am until midnight and comes at an affordable price.

7th Annual Dog Surfing Competition 2012

In San Diego shore more than 50 dogs of different breeds came together for the annual dog surfing competition to raise money for the benefit of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. It was the seventh annual Loews Coronado Bay Resort Surf Dog Competition wherein hundreds of hounds and beach sports enthusiasts attended the event.

They were judged on confidence, their surfing ability and their "sense of fashion." They are scored on their best two waves. The heats are subdivided into three categories: small dogs, large dogs and tandem dogs. Winners receive a special vacation package at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort and snacks for their pets.

Oh Our Dogs!!!

I have chosen to write about our two dogs Taffy and Sasuke. Sasuke died three years ago. It was hard for our family to accept that she passed away so soon. She's my sister's pet. Taffy is an askal dog while Sasuke was a boomer, mixed breed dog. They are the guardian and best bud of our family. They are clever and cheeky girls. We always look forward to getting up everyday to be greeted by them. They are very sweet and loving, they implore us to rub their ears and scratch their butt. They would go around my leg and wiggle their tail. When they are happy, they wag their tail side to side. When they have done something wrong and you scold them they wag their tail up and down a little bit..lol.. 

Taffy loves to eat rice even without a dish. I would always bring her chicken/cow bones once I got extra penny from my allowance. Apparently, she has an allergy to one kind of crustaceans, the shrimp. One time my mom fed her with boiled shrimp, an hour after she ate it she got hives and nasal congestion. It took her 3 days to be relieved from the allergic reactions. Likewise, sasuke had an allergy with shrimps and prawns.

Taffy loves chasing cats and birds while sasuke wants to sleep often. I would say Taffy is the mind reader. She is always one step ahead of me. Sometimes I thought she has a human mind. Both of them are amazingly good and fast learner. However, Taffy can frustrate us to no end by running off track. She jumps, leaps, spins, and flings whatever play thing she can find. She spends most of the day outside staring at the trees and running after with "carlisle", our three year old kitten.  

They are part of our family and all they want out of their lives is to keep everyone safe. I could never explain how much they mean to us, but I’m sure many of you feel the same way we do. Anyway, we do have our new puppy he's just one month old. I will be featuring him soon.

Husky, Golden Retriever: "Dog with a Blog" to air on Disney.

According to reports the Disney Channel has just announced a new comedy series “Dog With A Blog”. It has also been confirmed that the star of the show is a rescue dog. Adopted by his family to tame the two feuding stepbrothers get along, a husky golden retriever named Stan( in real life "Kuma" ). However, it turns out Stan can read, talk, write and blog. A very talented dog.

The show stars G. Hannelius, Blake Michael, Francesca Capaldi, Beth Littleford, Regan Burns and Stephen Full.

"Dog With A Blog" is set to arrive this fall 2012.

Cockapoo Dogs: Dario Franchitti and Ashley Judd celebrates Indy 500 win

Dario Franchitti and Ashley Judd celebrated Indy 500 win with 2 cockapoo dogs.

A day after Dario won his Indianapolis 500 race on May 27, he and his actress wife were back on the track -- the couple posed for photos with the Borg-Warner Trophy during the traditional winner photo session,this time with their two cockapoo dog breed "Buttermilk" and "Shug". It was Franchitti's third time winning the big race.

The Cockapoo is highly intelligent and very affectionate, retaining much of that from the Poodle breed. As with a lot of smaller dogs, they are happy dogs tend to be quite long-lived, and it's not unusual for cockapoos to live to 15 years or more.

Rottweiler-Beagle: Miley Cyrus Adopt a Stray Dog from Walmart

Miley brought home with her a mixed rottweiler-beagle dog last May 3, 2012, which she found in a parking lot of walmart. She named him Happy, her fourth dog.

Instant Fame for A Hero, "Kabang"

The heartwarming lifesaver dog 'Kabang' took an instant fame. She saved the two kids from a crucial accident which leads to lost her upper snout. The girls stumbled with bruises but were otherwise unharmed. The motorcycle driver, likewise unharmed. She sprung to save two girls from being hit by a speeding motorcycle which made her a superstar.

One neighbor said, "People come here to have their photos taken with the dog. Some come with medicines, food and vitamins."

Mia said, If Kabang saved her masters, definitely, her puppies will do the same thing to us. The Bunggal family who owns the said dog said that they are willing to share her puppies.

She is a gift from God.

Otterhound

The Otterhound is a large dog breed with a rough coat and classic shaggy face. The most common colors include black and tan grizzle. They have a broad head and a sturdy neck. This dog breed has a large nose which is useful as it needs sensitive scent glands to sniff out their slippery prey. Otterhounds are affectionate but don't demand attention all the time. The most important feature of this breed is their fur.

The Otterhound is an intelligent dog breeds, and can become very eager to please. They are not known for their attentive behavior during training so they will need a very patient owner. They need to be outdoors on a regular basis. After eating they are prone to bloat so they require frequent exercise. The good thing about Otterhound is they have nose that could track in the mud and water for over 72 hours.

Pugs

                                                      

The pug is a small, stocky, square, thickset dog pet with a wrinkly, short-muzzled face. Pug is one of the largest dog breed in the Toy Group with a weight of 14 to 18 lbs. Their known for their two distinct shapes of their ears, "rose" and "button". They share the same origin as the Pekingese but not related to the Bulldog. They are described as multum in parvo “a lot of dogs breeds in a small space” which refers to their personality and size.

Pug puppies are often called puglets. Pugs are strong dogs. They need to be taken on daily walks. When out for walk, the dog must be behind the person holding the lead, as instinct tells a dog the leader leads the way, and that leader needs to be the human. The pug also excels in the show ring.

Papillon

Also known as Continental Toy Spaniel, it derives its name from its characteristic butterfly-like look of the long and fringed hair on the ears. Papillons are small, friendly, elegant toy dog with a fine boned structure.

They are distinguished from other breeds by their beautiful, butterfly-like ears. Papillons need daily walk. Play will take care of a lot of their exercise needs, however, as with all breeds; they are alert dog, very intelligent toy dog, quick to learn and eager to please with plenty of spirit, and ideal choice for active owners. The breed must be either parti-color or white with patches of any color.

Papillons can live anywhere, but apartments may cause problems as the little dog communicates in a vocal manner, which may upset the neighbors.

Pekingnese Dogs

The Pekingese or "Peke" is a small, very short face, large expressive eyes and heavily boned toy breed of dog. Peke has a long, thick, flowing, dense stand off coat. Although the Peke has a thick coat and can tolerate the cold, they do better as an indoor dog. They do not tolerate the heat at all and they are not good swimmers. They have large, round and wide set eyes with short and narrowed legs. They are sometimes called the “Lion Dog” because of their massive front and tapering hindquarters.

Pekingese are not Golden Retrievers. They have an independent mind of their own and are not pushovers to raise and train.

They are the type of dogs that are loyal to their owner, polite with strangers and usually accepting of other animals. They are calm and quiet indoors, they lies on the sofa cushions much of the time. Yet they will also surprise you with sudden bursts of comic playfulness.

Pomeranian Dogs

Pomeranians are small dogs. In fact, they're one of the smallest dog breeds in the world. They are alert, inquisitive and active: one of the most independent of the Toy breeds, they need a firm, gentle hand. They have soft dense abundant textured coats. They are compact but sturdy dogs. They can be picky eaters, and they need to be fed dry dog food in order to prevent tooth loss.They prefer a lot of interaction with their owners, which is why they are often used as companion dogs for single people.
